I would like to begin by mentioning that politics in bands destroys bands. With that said, you mentioned the guitar player who has worked with the drummer in the past. It also sounds as if the front man was not absolutely sure of this decision, but made it regardless possibly out of desperation...

I can not claim yet to have mastered the light touch. My first two basses were passive, i was younger then, and played metal. so digging in was an understatement. My main bass has active EQ, and my hard fingering was just killing me. I use to break sttrings, anymore now is just a freak incident .

This is true, but I'm not sure if the 410 will handle the 400w @4ohms. The more i think about it, the more this is a case of don't fix it, if its not broken. I am happy to be lucky enough that all of my equipment works together just fine.

Ok, I started off with a fender rumble 150. Has a 15 at 4 ohms. I have not found a max power handling for the speaker. Then found a steal of a deal, hartke ha4000 head.....then added a hartke 410xl bass module, 240 watts @ 8 ohms. I currently run the head into the 410 with 290 watts @ 8 ohms...

Gives me a "Digital" feeling. SNES game music if you will

I do not own the interface, but I love the sound I get through it. Pro tools is a good plus I suppose, But I also go DI from my rumble 150 to the USB interface and EVEN with a $120 rogue 4-string, I get a killer sound! I also obsess over EQ and change strings on the reg.

This sounds Like the best way to go. But I would look inside to make sure at any rate, that your not driving a screw into anything important :D

I'v got a pair of HOSA headphones bought on a budget, but anything that takes away moving real air just isn't the same :crying: Besides, what good is having one if you can't let them know your interested in more than just you, but pissing them off too! :D +1 for the good advice though
