Supposedly uneven neck pocket on a Fender Jazz

You guys are awesome! OCD got the better of me and I had to check… So I removed the neck and the screws actually couldn’t pass through the body. So I widened the screw holes slightly using the screws as suggested (in-out-in-out…) until they could pass through the body. This fixed the „problem“...

Supposedly uneven neck pocket on a Fender Jazz

Thanks to you all, great replies! I will check the body-holes and remove that sticker. I will report back! @Smooth_bass88 : It is a 2017 Fender FSR 70s Jazz Bass. They were introduced along with a P Bass in the same style. Really nice ash body on this one and American Vintage 75 Pickups.

Supposedly uneven neck pocket on a Fender Jazz

I have mexican 70s style Jazz Bass and I really dig that instrument. But I‘ve detected what seems to be an uneven neck pocket. I can fit a feeler gouge between neck and neckt pocket (see pictures). The bass holds its tuning and feels alright. Is this something that would worry you? How could it...

Singing the praise of flats on a Jazz Bass

Has anyone of you ever tried flats on a J bass with the 70s spacing?

NBD: 2011 Squier Matt Freeman Precision Bass

Thanks for all your replies! Sounds like I got a good deal, wasn't really sure about this, just liked the bass! :bassist: yes, condition is really good. Only thing besides the issue with the output jack is the fret wear. It isn't really bad but there are prominent grooves on the first 4-5 frets...

NBD: 2011 Squier Matt Freeman Precision Bass

Thanks for all your kind words! Yeah, the bass is put together really well and has a very comfortable all-around feeling. Sound is also great! I wonder if putting flatwounds on it would be good idea for classic rock sounds?

NBD: 2011 Squier Matt Freeman Precision Bass

Just took home this 2011 Squier Matt Freeman Precision Bass. Got it for 375 Euro from the german classifieds. So far it is in good condition with moderate signs of wear. There may be a loose spot on the soldering of the input jacket, there is a bit of sizzling. Other than that the bass looks...

NBD! 2017 Fender American Original 60s Jazz Bass...a bit doggish..

Fews days back I bought this AO Fender Jazz in used condition. It came without the case or any accessoires. It is a bit of a dog and has seen some poor handling. The guy I bought it from got it from a music school where he is working. It still has the sticker with the inventory number on...

NBD: 2018 Fender FSR 70s Jazz Bass

I had a set of Ernie Ball Group III flats lying around and put it on this bass. Sounds good to my ears...especially great sound with a pick! Build quality is good, BUT I discovered a gap between neck and neck pocket: The bass seems to hold its tuning and intonates well. I am just a little...

NBD: 2018 Fender FSR 70s Jazz Bass

New Bass Day here....wasn't really on the hunt for a Jazz Bass, but got a good offer on this one: Mexican made 70s Jazz Bass. These were a factory special run in 2018, along with a matching p bass, I believe. This one has a really nice two piece ash body and weighs in at 4.3 kg (9.4 lbs.), which...

Best compagnon for Music Man Stingray: Jazz Bass or Precision Bass

Great answers everybody, thanks a lot! I was thinking maybe it will be a P. Luckily I am under no pressure, as I am quite satisfied with the Sting Ray. But I will definitely check out some of the mentioned basses.

Best compagnon for Music Man Stingray: Jazz Bass or Precision Bass

Maybe a slightly dumb question...I have a nice 3 band eq Music Man Stingray with rosewood fretboard and D'Addario chromes on it. My band plays mostly classic rock and blues. The stingray goes into an Orange Terror Bass. This combination sounds pretty good albeit I might want to add another bass...

NBD: 95 Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray

Thanks guys! I am really impressed with the craftsmanship that went into this bass. Once it was set up properly it just played perfectly.

NBD: 95 Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray

This is my first Stingray, a 1995 3 band eq with rosewood fingerboard. The build quality is superb and the bass plays like dream. The neck is amazing. Really nice birdseye maple and it just fits perfectly in my hands. I put D‘Addario chromes on it so it fits the needs of my band better (we play...
