Indecesion for a first time bass buyer.

Wanted to necro this thread to let yall know that I have indeed bought my first bass this week, an Epiphone Thunderbird w/ Hardshell case for $250. I've got the folks at BassEmporium giving it a tune up and restring with rotosound 77s. I think I've decided to give up the ghost tho and just...

    Hearing Loss and Ear Plugs

Thanks for your response, I've an upcoming appointment with my ent (been seeing her for nearly 20 yrs) anyways due to an aid being in the shop. (Man, mono-hearing sucks  ) I'll be sure to ask her then. I was just curious to see if there were any commercial ear muffs, the running theme of...

Thanks for the suggestions guys, so far Rondo Music may be the best bet for me (haven't had a chance to browse ebay/craigslist yet). That Douglass WPB-955T is looking very attractive atm. Regardless of where I pick up the bass I will more than likely use Bass Emporium to buy strings/tabs and...

On the subject of lefty basses... Easier to re-string a bass for lefties or just learn to play a righty upside down? I could probably adjust to finger picking with my right hand, but I would only ever feel comfortable slapping with my left.

Hi guys, I do apologize in advance if this is the improper place to ask the "this or that" question, I'm still learning the lay of the site. Also not looking for a brand war, just some honest opinions. So the setup is, this will be my first bass purchase, but I'm on a shoe string budget...

Favorite songs to listen while driving at night?

I'm on a Dio fix lately so "Heaven and Hell," and "Stargazer" fit the bill quite nicely.

    Hearing Loss and Ear Plugs

Whew, what a long read. As someone with already moderate hearing loss (birth defect) what kind of protection would yall recommend for someone who only does personal sessions. Ear plugs are not an option for me since I wear hearing aids.

Was looking for reviews on a Peavey Bass I saw in a pawn shop. Reviews as well as the site look promising, might stick around for a while. :)
