    90s Peavey Foundation Parts

I called Peavey Customer Service and left a message. Hopefully I’ll get a response. I’m leaning towards lacquer. It dries much quicker than poly and in a production environment, things need to move along quickly.

Also, how did you learn this from a serial number search?

    90s Peavey Foundation Parts

My Foundation is a 93 and the neck doesn’t have the finish wear normally associated with lacquer but I’m not sure. After 33 years, it still has shine

Now, does anyone know whether the finish is on their maple fretboards is lacquer or urethane?

I have a 93 Peavey Foundation and need replacement tuners. Can any recommend a quality exact replacement?

    90s Peavey Foundation

Yeah, it was supposed to say “aren’t” rather than “are. “ Tried to edit it but couldn’t. It seems I dodged a bullet in that I bought a 93 which still had the super ferrite pups. The neck is very comfortable although there’s a couple of small gouges in the face of the fretboard which don’t...

    90s Peavey Foundation

TV I played my Foundation at church for the first time yesterday. Love the feel and playability. The tone was awesome through my headphones. I may make my Jazz bass the backup!

    90s Peavey Foundation

When I played clubs back in the 80s, I always wanted a Fender Jazz but couldn’t afford one (have one now). Other guys were playing the Foundations which I thought were great and I really wanted one but wound up going with a MIJ Yamaha BB300. Couldn’t afford being trendy but in the back of my...

    90s Peavey Foundation

Seems to be in line with all of their stuff. Peavey amps and PA equipment were solid and bullet proof but not trendy.

Did more research and my 93 has the super ferrites so I’m content. I don’t understand how such a well made, US bass that sounds and plays amazing is so snubbed and sells for so little. Bought mine for $220

Pickup for a 1971 Standard Fender Jazz

Years ago, a friend gave me his old early 70s Jazz and the pups in it were weak also. I took it to the local music store and the owner, a seasoned bass player himself, strongly recommended having them rewound instead of replaced. He said the bass was too valuable and keeping it all original was...

Is there a definitive way to know what’s in my bass? The seller said they were super ferrites but he may have been wrong… they certainly aren’t active pups

That makes me feel better since my 93 has the supers. Has a great sound

    90s Peavey Foundation

I think so. I just wonder why there seems to be a preference for the 80s model and a bit of a snub on the 90s version
