    Conspiracy to Commit Electronics Megathread

I’ve had another look, I don’t think that parallel snubber (blue cap with resistor) is helping so I won’t be including it on future builds.

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

As a BBP35 owner I am wondering if there was a particular reason you went top loaded with those LaBella's?

Did you just bait me into taking a side?!? 😏

I stack my PA {red} into my BD {black}. The BT Reverb is also great! But for Bass, I'd recommend a HPF mod. If you haven't done C2CE builds before, I'd recommend the Particle Accelerator as it has a smoother OD. If you are looking for EQ options, I prefer the Bass Dude.

Just beat me to it 🤪 *Edit* Definitely diode before the first cap to protect it from reverse polarity.

These are my power supply mods. My favourite is the CLC filter at the DC input. The other mods address *possible* issues that *could* lead to audible whine artefacts. Note that in the schematic I haven't matched the component numbers with the NP-Build-Doc. Also, note that the NP B+ is around...

Personally I don't. I will build with the WIMA caps for those who want them, they are *technically* better. 😊 But while the Nobelium is a "very clean" tube amp even the DI transformer core produces a pleasing colouration that is 3 to 4 orders of magnitude above the metalized polyester of an...

I moved diode to the + DC pin and mounted the first CLC cap directly on top. Then the CLC inductor goes easily where the diode was and then I add a ceramic cup under the final CLC cap. I’ve made a number of mods to my builds (feat.TheRev) in an attempt to reduce pedal cross-talk. I’ve had no...

Those holes are needed. They are used to mount 10mm risers to mount the bottom of the pcb. The pots and switch *might* be enough but I wouldn’t risk it as the board will flex with each movement… Nobelium’s are not the cheapest build 😊 You can see the two mounting nuts either side at the bottom.

So cool, I pray for your endurance! Hebrew nearly broke my brain 🤪 But studying for the ministry is such a blessing, hard!, but a blessing. I did it backwards… My MDiv for PC Australia first, (now a Rev.) and then I started learning bass to bring some live music. (But I build feat.TheRev...

The Sol is a solid option. Is it noisy when used alone between bass and amp?

It should be very quiet. Does the noise still happen when you use the pedal completely on its own? Eg Bass-Nept-board/amp

I know this might be weird, but as someone with very little experience I just find it easier to find the fingering I like on the 5 more than on the 4. It seems strange to say that a fiver feels easier for me to learn... but it is.

We are in the process of replanting our small church, so we currently meet in a small Auditorium under a Golf/Bowling club. We love the fact that the regulars get to see God’s people gathered for prayer, Bible teaching, and worship.
