How can I achieve this bass tone?

Oh ya, Mont has been my number 1 fave bass player of all time since I first discovered Egg back in highschool. Haha. Been transcribing and learning a bunch of his bass parts all day, hence why I have his tone on my mind. :bassist:

How can I achieve this bass tone?

I have one. 1959. Unfortunately the dude who had it before me was probably just a rich dude who collected instruments and didn’t play it Kuz shag it’s really badly out of shape. I need to do a big restore job on it before it’ll be playable. Took me 4-5 years to hunt down even a single one...

How can I achieve this bass tone?

Starting @1:00: And here: And here: It’s that typical thunky/plucky bass tone you here a lot on records from the 70s. I’m playing through an Orange Crush bass amp 100watt, and I play a Fenton-Weill ‘Contrabass’ 1962 and a Italia Mondial bass, if that helps. Thanks!!!
