My choice is VL 4x4 for sure. Voodoo Lab 4x4 and VL Digital are the best stock PSUs I managed to find on the market. Sure I didn't try all of them. :)

Thanks for your advice. I already own the VMT. It seemed OK in the shop. But when I gave it a spin in my environment and compared it with the other ODs I have (EBS ValveDrive, Bearfoot Blueberry, T-Rex Bass Juice) I've faced the limitations I shared above. Thus I think I'll flip it soon.

I know I'm in a minority here but I think Darkglass VMT is much overpriced and overhyped for what it really is. I've got it inspired by many TB positive comments and I found it anything but transparent and noticeably eating attack and tone details. I'm not impressed much by VMT but it can be...

I don't consider bigger box and higher power voltage as an obvious disadvantage. I'd rather say it's a chance for developer to add something "extra" to the sound and features. I don't mean to criticize Smoothie at all. I'm sure it's a good product. Hope to try it one day.
