John McVie's continuously fretted "The Chain" Alembic up for auction...

Looks like it fetched $177,800 this time around. https://www.christies.com/en/lot/lot-6572836

I've shared a few PCB designs on OshPark that incorporate input diode protection. Each should be fairly self-explanatory, but I'd be happy to elaborate if needed. The first one is what I used for my PW3B builds. https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/Wgztq5Zb...

    Custom pedal builders?

With an intro like that I'll be blushing for a while, thanks Charlie! @Passinwind @moon-bass , I'm willing to take on the occasional one-off, as long as you're not in a hurry. DM me to discuss.

This is the footprint I made in KiCad 6.0. It turns out that including the traces as part of the footprint causes DRC violations, so they actually have to be added separately in the board layout. Fortunately, giving the SMD and through-hole pads the same pin numbers works as one would hope.

Charlie, I was wondering why the LPF board used separate single op-amps instead of one dual. Thanks!

Hi Charlie, I'm curious about your naming convention for the various iterations of pedals -- WTHPF vs. PW3B-LPF.

Thanks, I'm hoping for much better vision going forward. I recently discovered that using a bit of liquid flux on the braid makes desoldering braid SO much more effective! I designed and hand-soldered this 25 years ago, I guess I'm losing my touch, lol!

I also struggled with wet vs. too much solder, it's tough. I was able to do the soldering with prescription reading glasses, and occasional use of an old magnifying lamp. I'm getting cataract surgery tomorrow, which is why I really wanted to get these finished today! Charlie sent me a PDF file...

Those look superb! Your op-amps look way better than mine did, maybe my tip just wasn't fine enough..

They mate with a matching fastener strip on the bottom cover to hold the boards in place.

The hook-and loop fasteners. Like Velcro. Those aren't holes, they're the little mushroom shaped stalks that interlock.

Well, it's been a fun and circuitous 4-1/2 months, but I finally finished three working V4 pedals! I used a TBS1 relay switcher from Stomp Box Parts in order to implement remote footswitching, which ended up working great. Grounding of the enclosure was accomplished with a 1/4" ring terminal...
