    Thanks for the reply, appreciated. I'd try other EMG's if I was still in the active camp, but I use a lot of germanium fuzzes which sound awful with active, low impedance pickups. So, no actives for me. Going passive is a must.

    Hey guys, I've been looking at the DCB's as well for my Spector5. Thing is, it is loaded with EMG40dc which IMO have too much of a Ping Ping Zing Zing Music Man tone. I'm looking for a more organic sound. I'm ok with an agressive tone, but not overpowering in the uppermid cut. Right...
