    Epiphone EB-0 - New pickup(s) suggestion

I recently picked up one of the '00-'01 run Epiphone EB-3 5-strings. It's completely stock with the OBL 2-Dual Rail Bass Humbucker pickups. I would like to upgrade/replace these and was wondering if there are any options for me without routing or cutting?

    GIBSON Club

It's been a while since I have been on Talkbass, let alone checked in with this group. I can't remember if I posted this or not but this is my latest Gibson. Gibson SG Supreme Guitar of the Week 2007 Week 18 1 of 400

    Fender '62 reissue Precision bass

I purchased a MIJ '62 re-issue Precision Bass in 1989. It included both the pickup and bridge cover and the thumbrest located on the E-String side of the pickguard, NOT mounted as a tugbar on the G-String side. It's in sunburst with 4-layer tortoiseshell pick guard. The body is alder and the...

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 4)

James Jamerson and one of the most famous Precision basses of all times. Born January 29, 1938 - Passed August 2, 1983 "James Jamerson's double bass was a German upright acoustic bass that he bought as a teenager and later used on such Motown hits as "My Guy" by Mary Wells and "(Love Is...

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 4)

I'm trying to get a read on what amount I should increase my insurance coverage to on my late '89 - early '90 MIJ P-bass (Serial # J02XXXX). It's in minty condition (9.9 out of 10). I've owned it since '95 and paid less than $200.00 for it at that time. The fit & finish is really outstanding and...

Why does Guitar Center hate bass players? And freedom?

Now there's a statement I can agree with...!

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 2

HenfieldJ, What part of the D are you in? I'm in Wayne. Cutting strings down for me seems a little...um...intimidating? I've had a couple of long scale strings break during some rather "enthusiastic" playing in years gone by and have one scar across the back of my left thumb to show for it so...

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 2

We've all been there Marko...I know that it's probably rediculous to try but whenever I have sold one of mine, I have at least gone through the motions of trying to sell to someone I believed had a passion about making music. I know it's stupid and naive, but I hate the thought of something so...

    The Rickenbacker Club Part Five

Electracoyote, that's what I thought. The owner says he hasn't played it once and I believe it after examining it. I couldn't even find a scuff mark and the all the electrics are great. All the case candy is with it along with the original paperwork from Ric and the dealer where he bought it...

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 2

I grew up in Cincinnati before there was a GC or anything like them. We had Buddy Rogers, which at the time were pretty decent with caring salespeople that actually were musicians in their own right - usually working there between gigs. The Fender Lights are a little too "bright" for my...

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 2

I agree with you from a marketing standpoint to a degree, but seriously...four GC's without a single set in stock? That's a buyer that's not doing his/her job! I am absolutely certain that between four high-volume GC's they sell more than "maybe 1 or 2 units a year", especially when they're...

How did you afford equipment as a teenager?

Got a part-time job at Buddy Rogers (local music store in Cincinnati). Never made much cash but oh those discounts!!!

    The Rickenbacker Club Part Five

What's the going value (U.S.) for a mint (and I do mean mint) '99 4003 in JetGlo...? Any idea? I bought mine new in '99 and have an opportunity to pick up another for what I think is a reasonable price ($1,200.00 or a little less) based on its condition. I paid just a little less than $900.00...

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 2

Thanks Bassist! I ordered a set of La Bellas yesterday. It's amazing that the city where James Jamerson is buried that you cannot find a single set of La Bellas!?! Had to go online. The other amazing thing is that out of four GC's located in and around Detroit, they had exactly ZIP, ZIPPO...
