To Faivy,
I'll just be picking my jaw up off the floor, now. Nice Group O' Gibbies, there! I used to own a 67 epi esquire, quite possibly the best sounding bass i've owned in 30-plus years. How's the '54 sound?
The 54 is one of those big brown single coils, not really a mudbucker. It is big and deep but with some definition. I love the way it sounds but they all sound different.

The single coil was a massive coil of at least 25,000 turns of #42 wire designed by Walter Fuller. I have an early '59 EB-2, just before they changed to the "mudbucker". My EB-1 is a '69 reissue. I've had GAS for an original many times, but the price of GAS has gone sky high.

Stunning EB2! I love the sound of that pickup. I had a 1967 EB2D but I guarantee it didn't sound anywhere near as good as yours!
I was lucky to find my EB here in Montreal.
It wasn't cheap but it was a fair price and you can't go back in time to make more.

Can I have a number please?
