BASS FACE! :p

Love the hair man XD. I tired a gibson T-bird and i didnt like it compared to my dad's old blackbird. The blackbird has that deep crunchy sound i can achieve, it's pure power.

My LP bass came with some extremely noisy pickups, which after much examination seemed to either be single coils or improperly wound 'humbuckers', they didn't buck any hum, let's put it that way.. Seems all of the LP basses they had were that way (maybe its intentional.. Who knows?)
Hell, the thing picked up more 60 him that our guitarists telecaster!

So, the only alternative for specific bass humbuckers were these fralin bass buckers, rs guitar works have them custom made for them, beautiful punchy, warm and round.. Very happy with them, played up high on the neck it sounds just like a les Paul being solo'd, crunchy and creamy. A lot less output that the factory ceramic TB+ pups that came standard.

Oh and no hum!

They are AlNiCo? Great! Are there any soundclips with them? Maybe my LPDC needs a present... ;)

Not cheap, but are worth every cent! I'll try to get some clips over the next couple of days, my LP is my 'gig' bass, haven't done any recording with it!

I'm in!

I am down to only a Gibson SG Reissue, but I love it.

I really wish I didn't sell my 70's G3 and Grabber in the early 90's though!:crying:

I also have a Les Paul Studio and SG Classic. Both 6 stringers though so shouldn't count.

Man have I been out of touch with this thread for a long time!

I sold the SG RI a couple of years back, went through a Thunderbird phase (also gone) and now loving my new Gibson Les Paul Oversize bass!

The LP is a killer and I don't expect to be getting rid of this any time soon.

I also have a 2008 Les Paul Standard Goldtop and a 2004 Studio (6 string).

Here are a couple of pics of the LP bass....:hyper::bassist:
