    Used G&L SB-2

Unfortunately, GC knows almost nothing about it. For me, as long as it’s 10 lbs or under it would be fine (but yeah, it could easily be north of 10lbs).

    Used G&L SB-2

I spoke to GC today about it. They said “it looks fine”.. but weren’t able to answer any questions with any level of detail or certainty. They also didn’t bend on the price. I will pass on it for now unless and until they drop the price again (I’ll monitor it on their website). It’s a decent...

Yeah, I’m hoping that it has the 1.5” nut because that’s what I’m accustomed to on my MIM Fender Jazz. Good thought about whether it includes a case…I suspect not though because there is no mention of it in the listing. Looks like a 3 tone burst, maple neck (roasted?) with a rosewood finger...

Thanks for the info. I’ll have to check the rumored “ski-jump” neck issue from owner abuse. Do you know the nature of the neck shape (maybe modern “c” shape…which I prefer?)? Also, are the pickups the same as today or have they changed? Thanks.

Hi. I’m eyeing a SB-2 that GC is selling currently for $950. They don’t have much information on it and it’s been sitting since March. Its serial is B033513. I tried to look up the serial on the G&L registry but can’t find any records. Based on the 3 bolt neck I am guessing it’s a 90’s bass. Im...

Nice…lots of great reference information…. much appreciated. I hit a road block in my progress with modes…I understand the nuts and bolts behind it, but applying modes practically to bass is proving to be difficult. I just need to be patient and grind it out.

    Beginner bass lessons

So I decided to start with a mix of free content from Bassbuzz and Talkingbass. I think both sites/YouTube pages offer really useful yet different methods of teaching. To me, Josh from Bassbuzz does a really god job of keeping it light and fun while Mark from Talkingbass takes a more technical...

    Beginner bass lessons

Wow, I had no idea there was THIS much good bass lesson content online…thanks for narrowing it down for me. I agree that in-person lessons have certain advantages over online lessons but considering the cost and, in my case, the inconvenience of traveling to a lesson (I live deep in the Jersey...

    Beginner bass lessons

Great stuff. I looked into Talking Bass before I posted here and, although Mark is a great teacher that seems to really take what he’s doing seriously, his comprehensive vids that aren’t for free are very pricey. Thanks for the suggestions. Seems like a lot of great free content out there.

    Beginner bass lessons

Hi…I’m a beginner bassist looking for a lesson plan that starts at novice all the way through to advanced level….preferably in the form of video. There are lots of online sources but I am yet to find a comprehensive plan in level order. Suggestions? Thanks.
