Currently only the one bass, and it's a Fender which serves the current purpose I have for it. But should the need arise for a different bass by a different manufacturer and I can find one that I like, then that's that.

Probably not going to set the world on fire with that, but for the price of a few pints of beer it may not a bad thing to put in a project bass to see if you could live with an active system or not before spending large on a decent one.

The ones I've been swayed towards, but not tried them yet are the Roland QuadCapture (about twice the price of the 2i2) and the Apogee Duet (which has a Mac specific variant, but about 500 USD).

Feel and playability any day over the sound, as the projected sound (pickups, controls, pre-amps, strings, whatever) can be fixed; but if the instrument feels and responds like a lump of lead to start with no amount of throwing bits at it will fix it.
