I tried the 15" last week and thought the sound was pretty good. I was about to go pick up the Roland 120xl bass cube that I mentioned in a few posts up (it was only $279 and sounded great) but it sold yesterday. I haven't played the 12" Ampeg but I don't think I'd use all 200w of the 15"...

Can we get more on this 12" vs 15" thing? For my purposes (home practice, band rehearsals, small gigs) either one should be loud enough, it's more of a tonal thing I'm concerned about.

I'm looking for a combo for at home practice, jams, and maybe some small gigs. I'm torn between the Ampeg RB115 and a Roland 120xl bass cube that came up used for a good price. Anybody whose played the Roland, which would better suit my purposes?

Is it worth doing, or is it better to get the CV '50s model for $400? They could probably be found used for about $250.

I noticed there is a "JB2" for quite a bit less. What's the difference (other than the lack of blocks and a pickguard) between the JB and JB2?

The Squier MSRP is $350. I can't imagine playing much less, my local GC gets stubborn about discounting anything beyond a strap or package of picks. I could see the G&L's going on sale at some point, though.
