You're right about that. There's always a gap between the theory and the implementation. However I think I'll still try to user .135 hex core caliber just for the sake of science. If anything goes wrong I'll reply with the end result.

I'm really considering getting some .45 .135 with hex-core from D'Addario. Do you think it could damage the instrument? The good thing is that it doesn't have the vintage bridge, which is known for very difficult intonation
