After a few months of waiting, a bass guitar arrived.
I have it for only a few hours, so only first impressions.
It's a five string, not a four, witch I used too.
Multiscaling is not that big a problem. But again, I had two: reaching for some low tones (as neck is really long) and playing some chords around 15th fret (as frets are fanned). But that's an easy adjustment.
Weight: it's not light! But again, after a few hours of playing it, I'm not feeling any aditional discomfort.
Balance is nice. No neck dive.
Security pin on input jack is annoying and too much.
On a first touch: nicely made, but Sires necks are more gentle on your hands. I felt edges on BTB as pretty sharp - but again, that's just feeling of transition from one guitar to another. Everything else is perfect.
Sound: OMG! I picked this model because it's a bit cheaper than a D Rock and because it has active/passive switch.
Acousticly, sound is great! You can really feel and see strings vibrating. Articulation (because of multiscaling) is awewsome.
G string is not that sharp sounding and B string is not muddy. Everything is really clear and even sounded.
Because of multiscaling, first impression on me was a sound of an E string. It sounds totally different than on regular scaled bass. On a various yt videos I always thought it was because of pedals they used, but no - it's the multiscaling.
Electronics: it's an active/passive. I only use passive and its great. It's a bit throaty and a bit really clean (piano clean), but that's not negative.
Active mode have alot of options: three different pots (lows, mids and highs), plus three way switch - didn't try it.
I've played it directly into amp (Markbass amp+cab Marcus Miller model) and it's the sound I liked. You can always do something more with various pedals, but to me, it's fine as it is.
And at the end: colour. Is it green, is it blue? Yes!
