Thank you...it makes sense. I got confused because the SVT VR has a standby switch on the front. It is working now. Should the polarity switch be down or up in a normal situation where it is connected to an Ampeg 8x10? And should the standby switch be on or off when I want to power up?

This is probably a silly question but I see there are two standby switches on my Vintage Ampeg '73 Blackline. One at the back and one on the front. Can someone please explain what is the difference between the two and in what order do I switch the amp on and off?

Thanks Jimmy, I am just confused about one thing. When I look at pictures and schematics of the amp head I only see 9 valves...6 x 6550s, 2 x 12 BH7s and 1 x 12DW7. What are the 12AX7 and 6C4s for? I'm a bit newvat this.
