Didn't get a lot done this weekend, food and wine festival was on Saturday, so it was slow working. The electronics cavity routed out and the cover cut out of maple. Then got to work on fixing the axe, by using some wenge to make a shield.

Yeah the wenge stands out, however this bass will be on the heavy side as there is no chambers in the body, basically because I got lazy and didnt want to make another set of templates. I will be carving away at the back though, so the weight should come down.

Thanks Hopkins, after looking into waterbased latex paints its shed alot more light on paints. I have a few tins of house paint lying around, need to make sure its waterbased and some Acrylic paint. I will test it out over the weekend and report back. Thanks.

My band saw has a safety switch on all doors, so when they are open the band saw will not turn on. If they dont lock completely the unit wont turn on. I had to bend the lock on mine to ensure a good contact as every now and then it wouldnt turn on. See if that helps.
