Thanks, that's probably a good place to start. I want a meatier more modern sound. Not scooped but more of a thump in the low-mid spectrum. I really like that Spector sound but i'm guessing alot of that is in the woods as well. Thanks

Hey all. I'm new to these forums so excuse my noobness. I have a Fender 1964 Custom Shop Relic and i absolutely love the way it plays. The sound, not so much. I like more of the modern aggressiveness sound in my bass. I was thinking of putting in a new preamp - i'm thinking a John East one...
