+1 on this... The cheapest B1on with its tuner, metronome/drum machines, headphones out, aux in are all valuable tools for learning your bass. The 100 efxs included are just added bonus :)

Just curious, did you try the vtdi with another bass? Or try your bass direct to amps? Just to make sure the problem is in the vtdi and not some other place like weak battery in your bass on board preamp. If everything is fine with out the vtdi then the problem definitely at vtdi. Do you keep your pedal plug in when not using it? If you keep the input plug in, it will drain the battery. Always unplug the input when using battery.
