I don't think there's another long scale 5 string in the Ellifson line. Maybe the more expensive one, his actual signature bass. I haven't looked into that one though because it's just a bit more than I'm willing to pay.

Yeah, this looks like it's stabbing into your gut and about to fall off of the strap. Hopefully you have strap locks on it!

I just heard that if you're going with a 5 string, it really shines on the longer scale.

I have played the JS3V but not the QM version. QM is the longer scale and I'm not positive but one of the Jackson models has EMG's. It's probably his signature series though with the EMG'S.

I've pretty much got my mind set on getting this bass. Does anyone out there have one of these? I've decided on this particular one because it's one of the only Jackson Ellifson models I've seen in 5 string with a large scale (35"). I'm also thinking of getting it in the hugely less popular...

If I were buying new, I'd go with the 35" scale Jackson JS3V QM. Makes that low B sound even better.

Well i raised the saddles to get the strings away from the fretboard a bit and that helped a lot. Not nearly as much fret buzzzzzz, problem solved. Had to retune... I better check the intonation tomorrow too. *strokes chin quizzically * Oh yes, intonation check will commence tomorrow.
