Has anyone here sent an amp to Peavey for repair?

I have an old Peavey amp (Combo 300) that needs repair. There are no Peavey service centers near me, so I was considering pulling the amp chassis out and sending it to Peavey for repair. Has anyone sent an old (out-of-warranty) amp to them? What can I expect with regard to repair time, price...

Thinking about buying a new Ibanez

I bought the 4-string version, SRX690EX, on clearance from MF and have been very happy with it. I put TI Flats on it and it gets a great range of sounds for all types of music.

What would give more volume--two combos with A/B box or convert one combo to a cab?

My band has a couple of upcoming shows, and one venue will not have PA support for my bass amp. It is a fairly small venue, but my Ampeg BA210SP simply won't be loud enough on its own -- it is barely loud enough for practice. I found a Peavey Combo 300 on Craigslist that is much louder, so now...

What gear did you start off with?

It was 1986, and the music store bass teacher/salesman talked my father into a Washburn Bantam B-60 (Headless Steinberger copy) instead of a Fender P-bass and a Fender Sidekick 60 amp. Still have the bass, but still get kinda mad at the music store guy...
