I did replace it with a Duracell had an energizer in there. It sounds ok at the beginning but as we play it deteriorates. To where it sounds flat and out of tune I double check with my tuner and I'm i n tune but it sounds like crap.

How can I know if the pre amp on my guitar is bad It has emg he pickups. It sounds muddy and seems to be out of tune when it's not. How can I check or do I have to take it to tech.

i had a similar problem with my Ibanez bass, my amp is plugged into a power strip as well as pedal board i would lower the treble and it got better but still buzz, long story short it was my ceiling fan making the noise i left the light on but turned off the fan and that stopped the buzzing...
