Are those actually carbon fiber or just textured like carbon fiber?? That looks nice!!

I didn’t know about the Delrins….I’ll have to check those out. I have the Adamas as well. If I remember correctly a bunch of us emailed Dunlop and they had some bags of them or something. I also have some Gravity picks. When he first started out he sent a bunch of picks to different TBers. I...

They are awesome. I bought a bunch of the Jim Dunlops back in the day. I think I have a few Modulus picks as well. Not a helpful post really….maybe I’m just bragging. ;-)

I have the same sentiment…the Modulus has the clarity and punch. I might be biased as I’ve had my Q5 for 20 years, but I played a Serek (less than a minute) and it was nice for sure, but it didn’t feel right. Of course we are always evolving as players and taste.

I ran sound for a band last year and the bassist had a pink Serek which was really cool looking. He let me noodle on it for a few seconds and it felt great to play. From a Phish sound I need Mike to go back to the Modulus, however in Mike’s band I think the Serek fits well. Speaking of strings...

    Ampeg Squareback wiring question

Wowza, what a build thread on that 810…incredible. Maybe I will just use Duratex…haha.

    Ampeg Squareback wiring question

Thanks. I put tolex on a Bassman 135 head once and while it wasn’t overly difficult, it also was an 810! I have the cabinet stripped down…definitely a lot of dents/dimples/chips, etc. I plan on filling all of those in and then seeing how it feels overall. I was leaning towards Duratex or the...

    Ampeg Squareback wiring question

Thanks for the info. This was correct. The green dot on mine was [+]. Did the battery test and one speaker was out of phase…ironically it had a sticker on it from a speaker rebuilder…so I guess when it was reinstalled they just reversed the wires. Good news is that all the speakers work…ran...

    1978 Ampeg 810 Rehab Project

Thanks for that feedback. Mine won’t be moved as I don’t play out but want it to look better than what it does right now….and I am cheap. Haha.

Looks good! Any issues after several months? Thinking about using this in the squareback and SVT I got. Is it durable or easy to chip?? Looks good up close?

    Ampeg Squareback wiring question

So that would mean the green wire is the signal since it goes to the tip? I guess as long as I do the battery test it will determine +/-.

    Ampeg Squareback wiring question

Thanks fellas. So Pin 1 is the green wire and Pin 4 is the black. So if you are looking from the outside of the cabinet the pins are in order…1, 2, 3, 4….and reavers from the speaker wire connection side. All speaker connections are marked with a green dot next to the connectors. So based on...

    Ampeg Squareback wiring question

My project is moving slower than I’d like. So revisiting this…since my SVT has 1/4” out…and I want to wire up a 1/4” jack on the cabinet instead of using the 4-pin. Do I need to rewire any speakers or anything or is it as simple as one of the wires is - and one is + and move those to the 1/4”...

Ampeg SVT (old school) amp help - 60s/70s

Took it to a tech for a bench test. He’s old school and worked on a bunch of SVTs. Thoughts on this??

    Ampeg Squareback wiring question

Got it, I was a little confused by that as well. So as long as I get the 4 pin to 1/4” cable I can run whatever amp (within reason) I want, correct?
