Thanks Jimmy, what about the volume level between the 410HE and the 112 with the same amp? I mainly want something more compact and friendly for the house. But I might consider using two 112s instead of the 410 when I need to take it out.

I was putting a knob on a tone pot, it was kind of tight, I was pushing hard and heard a pop. Now the shaft feels like it is on a spring and can be pushed up and down. Otherwise the pot functions normally. Any idea what happened and how it might be fixed? I can only think that I pushed the shaft...

I just reluctantly sold a Smith BSR B after 16 years. It was incredible in every way, except for the 16mm string spacing; and therefore spent the majority of the time in the closet.

Hey @walterw, this goes way back to your layout diagram. Why the linear volume pot? Traditional tapers are audio in J basses right? Does this provide a better response to the control?

Thanks! I must have thought more bass and low mids were the key, so last night on my GK 700RB, I rolled back the bass to noon and cut the low mids just a hair, then dialed up the high mids. Big difference, just removing some of the bass and low mids improved the clarity a lot.
