UPDATE I replaced the preamp tube with a brand new electro harmonix ECC83 and now the drive sounds killer, much more "gain" and clarity.

Kickass I just bought mine some day ago, I love it. At first the drive didn;t sound very good but after replacing the pre amp tube with a brand new Electro Harmonix it sounds really good and can get very dirty. I use mine with an Ashdown 2 x 10 and 1 x 15, killer combo IMO. I wouldn't wanna miss...

MAGs are very nice kit for the money but believe me those ABM cabs are something different.....

Well it does that too but if you adjust the input volume you can get a pretty distorted sound from the ABM but it gets kinda mushy. The slightly overdriven "edge" sounds very good as well as the clean tone which is immense.

It sounds killer too, only problem is I can't really get a nice overdrive out of it with the valve drive. It's not bad but I like my tech 21 VT character pedal quite a bit better. I might try and replace the 12AX7 tube in the ashdown head see if that makes a difference.

Thanx, yeah indeed the speakers maych the bass hahaha, pretty cool but total coicidence! I love AMPEG amps, that's actually why I choose the Ashdown it gets pretty much into AMPEG territory.

I just upgraded from a cheapass combo to this: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] it shakes the earth (575 watt RMS) and rattles balls ;-)
