That was very admirable of you. Good points and even greater convictions.

Hey there Ole Jason, if you were talking to me I can try to help. I really can't give too much away and every Luthier/builder has their own trick of the trade on what they like best. I think you are on the right track. Start studying old vintage tort guards and that will give you a good...

Thanks PTS74. @Arizona Jones, Na the holes look good, I think there is a sharpening/detail photoshop effect on those pictures. Looks cool actually. The guard is slightly softer and smoother in person and the holes look great. Thanks for being a fan.

A customer just sent this to me. This is a great representation of what a Vintage Bright Red, Speckled 60s will look like on your bass. Never exact, but similar.

Yes that is correct, they start stark bright glowing white. They go through a relic process which makes them become a slight off white/mint depending on the lighting. Then I do even more relic such as rust, etc, but some of the most surface relicing can wash off since its only surface, but no...

Here is another guard just finished and going out soon. This is a brand new perfectly glass shiny Vintage Bright Red with a speckled 60s pattern. The customer asked for no big yellow spots, but much more conservative looking. Here is a cool thing. These two guards are both identical in...

I am not sure the last time we spoke, but yes you are right. The material I have currently right now as of about 3 months ago, didn't exist in the world until now. The supplier I had before was the closest thing in the world that I could find and his was an overall normal modern thickness just...

Well, you're in luck. All my guards are now the accurate perfect vintage thickness. NEW Spitfire Top, Vintage middle, and old Spitfire on bottom. NEW Spitifre on top, vintage middle, modern Fender guard bottom My guards feel just like the old flimsy, very thin vintage guards.

Thanks man, that is a Spitfire, so that is a huge complement, thank you. Its hard to say if that was a burgundy or a bright red. If I had to guess, I think that would be a vintage burgundy subtle or speckled 60s with a heavy relic. The relic also changes the color appearance as well. That...

Awesome!!!!! Very cool. Please take some pics in room light and outside as well in sunlight and in shade. I really really really tried to get as close to the picture as I could with color and style. Looks like it fits perfectly too. Please do send more pics. Super happy about this one...

A worn spot? How can this be? I gotta see this up close. How did it get worn out to a yellow? That is awesome. Do you have pics of what it looked like before the spot?

    My new tort guard!

Looks awesome. The black color almost brings more of the reds out in those pictures. I can't wait to see it on the white. Thanks buddy and glad to be a part of this project.
