Very helpful replies, thanks!
Interesting point about batteries wearing, I hadn't considered that buffered bypass circuits might cause more potential wear. I so rarely use batteries so I hadn't thought about removing it, at least that's easy with a simple snap on cover.
I'll contact Dunlop to...
I've got a Dunlop 105q which I picked up used a couple of years ago, didn't have any issues with it but haven't used it for a while. I got it out again today to do some wahing and found it was dead. Assumed it was the battery so went to change it (I power most of my pedals with power supplies...
It has the same sort of sound through the amp, just a little more midsy like I'm trying to get.
The amp in the shop was a Genz Benz head (EQ'd completely flat) and 1 or 2 Vanderkley 1x12 cabs. I in no way expect my little ashdown mini rig to compete with that, but I've never found it bringing...
Okay so today after trying it again I bought the KZ5.
I do love the way it feels to play and it sounded great in the shop, I had no trouble getting the sound I wanted out of it.
Now I've got it home and to be honest I'm finding it difficult to get any midrange punch out of it without a teble-y...
They're not at all hard to find here, you just pay through the nose for them (compared to what they go for in the States).
I certainly am open to used instruments, but it's not my priority for the reason you stated (for most of them I would not be able to try before I buy). However I am seeing...
Thanks for the advice :)
I guess the tone knob thing is just me stuck in the rut of the gear I have, I'm so used to the combination of tone on the bass and EQ on the amp that I'm glossing over the added versatility of the 3 band EQ.
I didn't mention the spector as after playing the MTD I...
Hey guys.
So I've been playing bass for around 8 years now, and I've gone through a cheap Westfield P to a Rockbass Corvette basic and now I'm getting that urge to upgrade again. I'll be heading to university in a few months and I know I won't be able to spend large amounts of money easily for...
Finally some success.
While I can't get Behringer's ASIO driver to install at all, ASIO4ALL is now working. I've downloaded Guitar Rig 5 and that in combination with ASIO4ALL finally gives me audio with little enough latency to be useful. The software that came with it (NI AC combo or...
So this UCG102 works slightly better than the last one.
I say slightly because though I can actually get a sound through it, it's still got what feels like half a second of latency (unplayable certainly) and the 64bit drivers from Behringer's website still refuse to install at all.
I think...
Thanks for all the suggestions. I suspect my UCG102 was faulty (couldn't get anything through the headphone socket) so I've sent it back for a replacement.
If the replacement has the same issues I'll look further into some of the things suggested here.
I'm looking for a way to get recordings through my laptop. I'm not talking studio quality here, just something better than putting a cheap mic in front of the amp. On my old desktop I plugged into the line in socket and that was just about good enough for messing around, but this laptop doesn't...
forgive me for this, i keep asking more questions and recommendations, but i need opinions on a few amps
the warwick sweet 15.3
the roland CB100
and the hartke kickback 15
just anything you can say about them as small band and alone practice amps.
thanks (and sorry for doing this...
i did.
different bass, different leads, different room, Wifi off or on, PC off or on, different socket, uncoiling lead, touching various metal parts on the bass, turning lights off.
