i had bought an ashdown mag 300 115, based on good reviews and a good price, but i found that (with my single coils and limited space to practice in) i always get a nasty background buzz, and if i approach the amp further to make adjustments, the buzz gets as loud as the playing. At first i thought that the amp must be faulty, but i have now learned that that is to be expected with high watts and single coils. this really isn't suitable for me, so i'm looking for something a bit less powerful that i can practice about 4 ft away from.
question 1. do you think 150 watts is low enough not to get much buzz?
question 2. what do you think of the marshall MB150?
it's ideal in my price range, but i can barely find ANY reviews.
i need an amp for small room practice and small band practice.
(playing rock/funk that sorta thing)
thanks
