    Fender American pro vs ultra

Hey all, so I purchased an ex demo elite jazz v last week. Gave it a few tweaks to get rid of the dead spots and buzz. In the end I sent it to a pro as there wasn’t much I could do with the truss. He got back to me saying he’s done the best he can and that the truss is extremely tight and...

    Talking bass

Hi all. Has anyone used this website to develop their techniques? There are literally tonnes of free video instructions I can’t believe I didn’t find it sooner. anyway, does anyone else go to this website for learning references? I have been playing 15 years and still feel there’s a lot to...

    Affordable multi scale basses

Thanks for your kind replies. I have checked the rondo website, I’d never heard of them before, they look nice however (maybe I should have stated too) I really want extended range too. The rondos and the srf Ibanez are maximum 35 and 35.5 inch. I guess I really want a preloved Dingwall perhaps...

    Affordable multi scale basses

hi everyone. Does anyone know of any affordable (£500-600ish) multi scale basses preferably 5 or 6 string. Only one I have seen is redsub by gear4music but not massively taken back by it. Cheers

    Playing your bass and singing

I was a bassist in a metal band and took up lead vocal duties too after a couple of months looking for a singer. I always wrote the bass first and nailed that before focusing on vocals. It’s like separating your hands from the rest of you and takes a bit of work but is very achievable

How would you feel about this...

I honestly wouldn’t have time for them and wouldn’t help be feel hurt by it. I’d walk away from them

    "Best affordable" five-string p/j bass

That’s a fair opinion. I’m of the metal persuasion and looking at the model because of the classic appearance and configuration. It’s the neck thru and 35inch scale that are selling points for me. Another option would be the fender player jazz 5 string. They look pretty mean too Edit: forget...

    Help

so I bought a nice shiny ltd Phoenix bass a few weeks ago. One of the tuning cogs is broken and I’m waiting and waiting and waiting on the supplier to get this to me. I have told them I’m thinking of chopping it in for a fender player jazz v instead which they’re willing to do (I will pay the...

Best string gauge for BEAD tuning?

I would also go 130 for the B. All depends on your preference. I got an sr900 tunes in drop c with a 115 on the low C. I’ve pegged it down a couple of times to b and never had issues. Obviously a bit looser and the tone all changes with that. I prefer a tighter string hence I use 130s on my 5er...

I really want a Fender Aerodyne, but i'm a bit short on cash...

Although I have never played a Jericho, that’s the first thing I’d be looking at. They look amazing, sound amazing (from various clips and videos I’ve seen) and come 35 inch standard

What Kind of Bass Guitar do you Play (Re-loaded)? BE SURE TO REVOTE!

I mostly own 4s but almost exclusively only play my 5er nowadays as the band I play with require super low end. My next purchase will probably be a 6 so I can get a bit extra high end too. The beauty of my band is we have only 1 guitarist who isn’t interested in taking on another. That gives...
