Very nice '54.
IIRC, the "TG" initials are for Tadeo Gomez. Apparently the necks he did are prized by a number of folks.
I think I read somewhere that when getting an early Fender appraised, his initials automatically add to the value.

My workhorse! Ibanez btb405qm tuned all the way down to drop g.

I have owned lots of basses through the ages:

.shine j bass
.artison acoustic
.warlock nj 5
.stagg metal x
.charvel star
.fender jazz standard
.warlock bronze
.ibanez sr900 (my baby)

Mainly just use the btb now as he delivers my desired results in the band I play with.

Looking next for my first 6er now. Thinking ltd b206sm or peavey grind

This is what I got these days (not including an Ergo electric upright and a hybrid Eberle double bass). I've been through a lot of churn. Six basses I no longer have but kind of wish did.

Yes, it’s a refin. I got it as a refin, so I did it again to sea foam .

That’s the limited reissue 57 Roasted Maple from last year. The best playing of all of them and it only weighs 7lb 3oz.

Extremely excited as I just ordered an "Open Box" Limited Edition Fender Standard Telecaster P Bass for $519.99.
They have been selling new for $649.99 and I haven't had enough Gas $$ put away because of Christmas to get one and thought they all would be gone before I could get enough $$ together snatch one up. I just happend to have checked this morning hoping to catch an open box deal and got Blessed. As long as it has a good neck on it I'll be happy. I have a Babicz bridge and pickup options for it if it's a keeper. That reminds me I need some thru body string ferrules.
