The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

I think it's obvious that I'm a big fan of chrome.

Extremely excited as I just ordered an "Open Box" Limited Edition Fender Standard Telecaster P Bass for $519.99.
They have been selling new for $649.99 and I haven't had enough Gas $$ put away because of Christmas to get one and thought they all would be gone before I could get enough $$ together snatch one up. I just happend to have checked this morning hoping to catch an open box deal and got Blessed. As long as it has a good neck on it I'll be happy. I have a Babicz bridge and pickup options for it if it's a keeper. That reminds me I need some thru body string ferrules. :hyper::hyper::hyper:

Hell yeah!

My LE Tele P Bass is scheduled to arrive Tuesday and I'm praying it has a good neck on it.
I've found and ordered a Mike Dirnt Fender Pickup, Controls and Pickguard for it. Hopefully the pickguard screw holes match, if not, I have a blank piece already to cut if necessary. I have a 5 screw Babicz Bridge drilled/modded for string thru ready and ordered string thru ferrules and strap-locks for it.
Every Mike Dirnt P I've heard has that awesome low mid grind and it's my understanding, from all the research I've done, the only way to get the '59 Fender Custom Shop pickup is get the MD Bass or find a pull-off like this. I've been wanting to try the '59 pickup for a long time and this is my excuse to finally splurge and get one.
I'll have a little more than $700 in it but, that's a lot better than $1100 for a Mike Dirnt and the LE is the right color. I'll update here when finished.

This is my line up of basses through my 25 years playing. I've only sold 1 bass, my first one which was a Peavey.

L to R
1978 Fender P. Refinished by me. Basslines P pick up. The back of the neck has been sanded with oil applied. This was gifted to me in very poor condition, thus the pick up change and refin. I've got the ash tray pu cover but I don't leave it on the bass. Wicked sounding player.

1994 Fender J Fless, MIM, refinished, same neck treatment, Baddass bridge. Purchased new. I think the body was ash or alder....haven't played this for some time due to the G&L.

2018 Carl Thompson 5 string. West African Olive, Spanish Cedar core, mahogony neck, ebony accents, 2 Dan Armstrong pu's, passive. 36" Purchased directly from Carl Thompson #8118...no words to describe the artisanship. have to see it to believe it.

1996 Warwick Fortress Masterman 5. Purchased new. This was my main bass for 20+ years until I received the CT this fall. 100% original, you can see where my thumb sat for those 20 years in the little light dot obove the B string. I wore through the black stained portion of wood.

2001 G&L L 2500 Fless 5. Gifted to me directly from G&L after touring their factory and meeting the folks that work there. ....long story....great people. 100% original

I play through an Eden WT400 Traveler Plus made in 2000 and I've got an Eden D410T from the late 90's with the original speakers. Same amp set up since 2001,I've heard and played a lot of amps, not sure I can improve on this set up for what I do.
