2001 G&L L 2500 Fless 5. Gifted to me directly from G&L after touring their factory and meeting the folks that work there. ....long story....great people. 100% original

I'm off for 2 weeks. Would love to hear the "long story." As a huge fan of G&L, if all it takes to get a free bass is a tour of the factory, I'm gonna buy plane tickets today.

My new FENDER Limited Edition Standard Telecaster Bass w/ Loaded Mike Dirnt Pickguard. The MD 59 Custom Shop pickup is Amazing compared to the cheap stock pickup w/ Ceramic bar magnets and wound to a weak 4.9 K. The 59 CS is wound to a warm 10.85 K. I just had to add a Babicz bridge.
She is now Bad-Ass ! I now own a real Fender for less than $700.

She's a beauty Ed! How 'bout those Dirnt pickups huh? Yup. Business.

Very niiice Rick!
Don’t think i’ve ever seen a pickup cover used that way,but i bet it works!

In decades gone by, I was about a 50/50 Bassist...used a plectrum ‘bout half the time.

Frustrated by the pick on the neck side of the pickup cover: too wobbly.
Frustrated by the pick on the tail side of the pickup cover: too clankey.
Moved the pup cover so that I could use it as a rest for the heel of my hand while I picked right over the tail end pickup.

It’s worked well for 40+ years!

I’m a fingertip player now.

Happy Christmas!

Thanks man. That is a parts bass I assembled this summer. I love how it came out. (technically the pickguard is mint, but the light is hitting it dead on, so in the pic it def looks white).
very cool. this is one of my favorites, the only reason i haven't built me one is that i don't play much fretless....it's got to be (IMHO) one of the coolest looking basses ever...
