Ok, I'll be a brave Noob and chime in...Kala Exotic Mahogany Ubass and new Ibanez mikro, I just got on a Black Friday sale.

I am loving my new ‘54 P. I added a foam mute under the bridge cover and thumps great. Very light for a slab bass and a baseball bat neck.View attachment 3240765

Cool :cool: So is it an early 1954 with a replacement pg & new mounting screws? From what I've read later 54's had contoured edges and some had a white pg.

About mid ‘54 they started contouring the bodies and you can find examples with black and a few with white pick guards. Not many of the screws are original. On this one the pu, bridge, pickguard, one pot, and most screws are long gone. It’s a player and pretty light.

Yah, Fender introduce production changes in January and July.
