    I Gave Away My Precision!

Love hearing stories like this! Sounds similar to something in my life - the daughter of a friend of my wife's recently wanted to join band playing bass. Her parents don't have much, so they were leery of spending the money for something that they didn't know if she'd be interested in...

What is the Bassline that inspired you to pick up the bass?

Pink Floyd - "One of These Days". Also got me interested in effects pedals for the echo effect.

What were your last 3 basses or bass related purchases of this year?

My wife got me a Gretsch G2220 Electromatic Junior Jet and D’Addario flatwounds for it. And I got a yellow leather “Police Line - Do Not Cross” strap for my Epi T-Bird.

    Why bass over guitar?

For me, I was always humming the basslines from the kind of music I like (blues, hard rock, metal, punk...) I took violin in grade school and was pretty close to marginally acceptable, but got out of it when I could. I wanted to learn to play bass when I was in high school, but never had the...

    Hi!

Hey everyone. I’ve been playing for about a year and a half now. Guess it’s never too late to start (I’m 50 now). TalkBass came up on a bunch of searches I was doing for info, so I figured I’d join. I’ve got a collection of 8 basses already. I’m having fun experimenting with different tones...
