The first gig is always scary... try to stay as relaxed as possible when playing. pay attention to what the other guys are doing and keep your ears on high alert. and most of all have a great time... I'm sure you'll do fine and have a good gig

My question is about basses on planes. I see these websites with some DB's from other countries/states that I'd love to own when my savings are ready but I'm worried that if i bought something from overseas and had it shipped to me that there would be a high risk of it being damaged in transit...

a bit off the thread i read some violin site on the net awhile ago that using an old wine cork (real cork not that plastic stuff they use these days) is good for getting rosin off strings. I tried it and the rosin came off with ease and left little to no rosin on my strings
