A Second T -40 just added to my collection,serial number is 01229960 which points to an 82. was sold to me as an 84. however its much heavier than my 6 digit 78 T-40???

Ok guys heres the finished product

Project on hold due to moving,work,kids & gigs.

6 coats into it,6more to go

Sanded back to 600 and 3 light coats of minwax clear gloss polyurethane.now to dry for a few days so I can locate some 1500 grit to sand between coats

Results were a disaster and that's putting it lightly,nowhere near the original.sanding lightly with 4-600 grit to remove stain but light enough to aid grain detail.hope this idea works,if not I will be starting from scratch.

I read on the t-40 enthusiasts site that a light walnut stain was used to help the wood grain pop,will be applying this weekend,then to choose a grain sealer.

i have a blackjack ATX and i love it to death,imo the SD blackouts are better than my omen with EMG's,bottom line is everyone has their own sweet spot for sound.

Very nice Aerodyne,been thinking about one of these.Any complaints on it?

thanks guys i love the craftmanship that went into vintage gear & imo peavey's quality has gone to poopie these days. just finished sanding at 400,now onto 600 grit,but im not sure if i need to use grain filler and/or sealer on the ash

i have just purchased a 78 Peavey T-40 for $300.The neck was in very sad shape,a professional local luthier is refinishing the entire including headstock waterslide from ebay. I am going to to refinish the body to its original natural state.I will post pics to show my progress for those...
