I have one bass, 10 guitars, over 30 pedals, 6 amps and haven't gigged in 15 years.......and I still buy and upgrade gear. I'm into it all for over 20 grand. Not bad considering a hot rod or bass boat can easily go over $40 grand.........that's what I tell the wife.

I've played guitar for over 40 years I thought it would be easier to learn bass in DGBE. I found it to be easy in standard tuning. The C# F# tuning of the higher strings made it more friendly for me and easier with muscle memory. The question I asked from the beggining is really not relevent...

I actually went to a E A C# F# tuning. It's an either or thing. I do fine with both.

I'm new to bass guitar and am wondering what would be the cons against tuning to DGBE.
