Tuning a bass to DGBE

I actually went to a E A C# F# tuning. It's an either or thing. I do fine with both.
I've played guitar for over 40 years I thought it would be easier to learn bass in DGBE. I found it to be easy in standard tuning. The C# F# tuning of the higher strings made it more friendly for me and easier with muscle memory. The question I asked from the beggining is really not relevent anymore.
Bass is easier to play if all the interval between strings are the same. Guitar tuning deviates to make chords easier, which aren’t really our focus. I have basses in different tunings, but the intervals on everything is fourths.
Are you going to play bass on your bass?
Or guitar chords on a bass?

The bottom 4 strings of a guitar make sense. The top 4 are dumb and confusing. Stick with standard bass intervals.
It's all about the individual I think. There's nothing wrong with any tuning on your bass, if that's what suits your playing.
I'm a big fan of E-A-D-G-C for instance. It's not the craziest tuning you've ever heard of, but it's also not the most common.
Is there a re-adjustment period when I switch to low-B tuning? there was in the beginning, but I've been doing it for almost 20 years now, so it's very natural.
There are guitarists who tune their guitars in open 4ths all the way across. So C and F on the top, instead of B and E... It all depends what you want out of it.
