Thanks Nex - it could be further refined using thin brass strips instead of tape for durability - I may need to double up the touching strips as they are pretty fragile. But generally it works and the 6 positions offer distinctively different tonal responses. Furthest south (#6) offers a bit more 'upright' mid-range tone where the #1 position is pretty bass-y/boomy. It doesn't bring an acoustic tone, but it does sound enough like a double bass, especially considering the ebony board and using a fretless articulation approach.Awesome idea for the pickup connection!
