    I’m learning how to choose bass strings. I hate fret buzz and want to keep it a minimum. I could have low tension strings which are easier to play and keep the action high. Or I can have high tension strings that are harder to press, but I can keep the action lower. Why would I prefer one over...

    I like these strings, but what brand are they? How can I tell if they are steel or nickel? The cloth ends are red. The D and G are a darker red than the E and A.

    High frequency content

    I’ve started practicing paying specific attention to the extra noises. It’s really hard and subtle. Definitely different than any other exercises I’ve done. I’m trying to make sure that every sound generating movement I make is either muted or in time. It’s weird.
