    Major GAS (Haha, gas.)

$180 is a great price. That major GAS has got to be painful :D I'm GASsing for a Fender Jazz Bass, but all the not-so-great-used ones I'm seeing are selling for $100 less than new. I may end up grabbing a VM Squier Jazz instead.

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 4)

Same here, though the weird thing is that many places were out of stock of the charcoal frost when I ordered, so maybe it's popular somewhere, or Fender doesn't make as many as the other colors? Well, here she is, with TI Jazz flats: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

    Short Bassists Club

Count me in at 5'6. KeyFox, I started on the Ibanez SR505 fiver (SR500 is the four string) and found it really easy to play. Thin neck, light body. But try a lot of basses and get the one that feels right for you. I ended up getting a P-Bass and love it.

Sunnyvale here. Ha, been going to the Fry's off Lawrence for years. I learned to drive my first manual car in their parking lot. Cheers to my fellow CA bassists!

Hellfire! I wish I was Adam Clayton.

"...29 years ago we all met and formed our band. 30 years ago I got my first bass guitar, or as I thought, a guitar with only four strings. I had no idea what bass was. I had not heard of James Jamerson, Doug Dunn, John Entwhistle, or Bootsy Collins. I just knew I had a weapon, and a shield to...

Finally got some TI Jazz Flats for Christmas! Only one problem...

Hey Shanty, Grats on the TI Jazz flats. I also got a new set and just put them on last night on my P-bass (replaced stock Fender 8250M strings). The sound and feel are amazing. I was worried about the tension, imagining a wet noodle, but with a slight truss rod adjustment they give me less...

    Playing Bass for Church

Great stuff here, just wanted to add two things: 1) Find the groove for each song, and let that "pulse" shape your playing. Most likely that will come from the drums, the kick and snares although if you play with a percussionist then it may come from a variety of other instruments. Sometimes...

    Ampeg Portaflex PF-115HE vs. PF-210HE

In a similar situation as you terribilino. Got the PF500 over the holidays and absolutely love the sound coming from the headphones but am having a hard time deciding between the 115 or 210. I play a p bass so i'm leaning toward the 210 to bring out some slightly brighter sound, but am not...
