Bands that have two bass players

Peter Hook uses a second bass player. He can't sing and play bass at the same time. While he's been on tour playing Joy Division, he doesn't even play most of his own bass lines, since he sings lead.

New Iron Ether Pedal: QF2 analog multi-band distortion

Cool, but I was looking forward to the "bubble chamber", the QF2, will probably delay its release.

Are there any great bass players with small hands?

Something I've noticed is that many really great bass players have large if not, freakishly large hands. Bootsy, Buckethead (while primarily a guitarist he plays bass really well), Claypool just to name a few.

Who is your favorite under appriciated bassist?

How could I forget to mention That One Guy. He's incredible. Best one man band touring right now and a huge gear head.

    Headphones do make a difference

Try Sony mdr-v700; great for bass guitar. I had them from being a DJ. The freq range is a low lower than normal headphones: 5 - 30,000 Hz.

Who is your favorite under appriciated bassist?

She wrote most of the music for the Tom Tom Club didn't she? Genius of Love is an 80's classic. They are actually touring right now.

Who is your favorite under appriciated bassist?

I think Mike Mills gets recognition. He's been interviewed individually plenty of times. Plus isn't he in that new alt-rock all star band? Or is that Peter Buck?

Who is your favorite under appriciated bassist?

Yeah, I thought he was better on a regular bass. He uses an electric upright a lot too, which I thought he was better on. And yeah, while there are people who can play better than him, how many bassists can claim that they were the first to tour internationally playing certain style of music...

Who is your favorite under appriciated bassist?

Mine is probably Si John. He was one of the first bassists to play drum and bass/jungle live, and definitely the first to tour internationally playing the style, and people, for the most part, don't know who he is. Although Size was the composer, John brought the bass lines to life. Think the...

808 Kick drum out of a bass?

I was thinking palm mute might be the playing technique to get it done. But I think the right effect would round it out. I mean I'm sure you might have good technique and and all but going clean you just aren't going to get the sub bass tone and warmth. Think Brass Monkey from the Beastie...

808 Kick drum out of a bass?

Well, yeah, you could do it with a midi trigger connected Ableton or a drum machine. I get that. It would be rather easy actually. But I was more interested in shaping the tone from an actual bass if possible. Just for the fun of it really.
