I agree on the 16ohm thing. It's just that I picked up the two unused speakers for under £18 each. I probably should have planned this a bit better. I may sell them on and get a suitable 4 ohm 12-15" driver for a single unit cab. On the other hand, I love a challenge and they're already here.

Just a further thought before I commit to a medium 2x10 cab based on the Eminence parameters - thanks to 1n3 for confirming my interpretation of the dimensions needed. I'm wondering whether two separate 10" cabs would be better. Use one (16ohm) for practice as the power isn't really needed and...

Thanks for the ideas. There's clearly a large difference in the F3 factor between the cabinets. I guess it's the classic trade off concept where you can have any two of three ideals but not all of them. The small sealed 2x10 would certainly make a smaller cabinet but the medium is not that much...

Just a thought on the Eminence plans for a small sealed 2x10. It uses 2 drivers and 'optimum' in a square cabinet which presumably means right angled panels and not necessarily a cube. Would this work if a cubed enclosure had two drivers on adjacent faces at right angles to each other? i.e. the...

I'd love to be able to do this but the combo is too heavy and large to fit through the attic hatchway and we don't have anywhere else suitable to store a gig rig. I blame it on the industrial revolution and the poxy, small houses this created in the UK. Unfortunately there's not much I can do...

I did think of something similar but the cab is still a very tight squeeze as it has to not only fit through the hatch but pass the ladder which cannot be removed. Might end up having to extend the hatch as being the simplest option.

Good call but the other issue is that the attic hatchway is only 18" wide. This means that to be in any way practical it needs to be both light and small in at least one dimension. The rumble 40 would do it but a bit low in wattage for gigs. This is why I'm trying to create something bespoke...

Can't work out how to edit posts. The weight & size of the Custom Sound Cub is 22kg and 18" cubed. Any solution needs to be at least 50% lighter. I'm struggling to find any reasonably priced combos of a lower weight other than the specialist ones such as Phil Jones or Markbass.
