    Vintage Ampeg ID help

Great! Thank you. Since this thing isn't going in a museum, any suggestions as to what I can do in place of the impedance pot? Maybe a vol/master volume?

Hmm, that makes sense. There is also an input matching pot (also on the Dolphin schematic as optional), seems crazy to have both doing essentially the same thing.

    Vintage Ampeg ID help

Ok, so I've rebuilt the amp keeping as much original as possible and built a temporary housing for it. Somebody had been inside it years back and things were not hooked up properly so I'm just working off the 625 schematic. I'm using that as wiring matches up better and it does not use an 0C3 as...

    ....apologies, I just realized I wrote "815" above. I meant 835.

Thanks, I'll poke through those. It's just wild that I can't find another example of one with the gain switch or the labeling. My goal is the rehouse this in an appropriate cab.

    Vintage Ampeg ID help

Ok folks. I know there are some really knowledgeable ppl on here when it comes to Ampegs. Please tell me what I have here. I am aware of the 815 series of "Bass Amps", but what is this "Guitar Amp"? I can't seem to find any similar models especially with a gain switch.

    Sunn 2x15 Cab ID help.

Oh nice!!! I have some crackling in the speakers but I think it's more due to oxidation on all the connections. Here's the backs of mine.

Actually just opened it up. Case is ply but the bracing and side baffles look to be pine.

Yup, those are the same corner guards and grills I have. Yes, mine is all plywood from what I can tell.

Agree. My divider is 3 sheets thick, this one appears to be two. Yeah, I like the "who knows" explanation. I'll stick with that.

This is the closest example I can find that sold on Reverb a while back. Same "plastic" covering, casters on the side and larger space between the drivers. Even the baffle divider looks thicker on this one. Best guess is mine was some parts bin special when the company was sold. I'd love to see...

    Sunn 2x15 Cab ID help.

Agreed, the grills are terrible. The port spacer is what threw me. I wonder if someone reinforced it? Seems like a lot of work for a clone as the badges and speakers are definitely legit. I don't think it's home built as it's covered in that hard plastic (no idea what the trade name is) and...

    Sunn 2x15 Cab ID help.

So I just picked this up today. Searches around the web for an equivalent are not showing anything. As you can see it's labeled with the original ID tag on the back but has the "updated" font on the front. It's loaded with Sunn 145's. Is this some weird transition model?

    Help identifying this Jazz Bass

Hello all, Been lurking on here for a while and joined up so I could ask for some community help with this puzzle. I have a friend who does clean out/demolitions and he sent me the photo below. He found this jazz bass and sent me the photo, I realize the photo is crap but it's all I have at the...
