    Official Revsound Bass Cab Club

I haven't posted in awhile. Been using my RS15, no tweeter. I run a Mesa D-800 plus with the HPF in about the middle, bass about one notch past middle, treble a bit more. I played at a Myrtle Beach resort club Sat. night which is a big building, hard tile floor, very high gymnasium type ceiling...

Get a cover. Its not quite as durable compared to the old Fender Tolex.

    Sire Bass Club!

Got my black fretless P7 a week ago. The preamp compares well to my John East preamp in my Fender Jazz. The neck is much like a Fender neck. May have to change the strings. I do not like the feel, and less resonation of the D'addario flats. Intonation seems fine right out of the box. Tuners and...

    Sire Bass Club!

My Sire P7 fretless bridge 2nd generation is fine and no need to replace it. That is usually about looks since it makes little or no change in sound. My tuners work well also and the pickups are very smooth. The only thing that I would ever change on this bass is the battery box and the strings...

I am using a RS15x with a Mesa D800+ and it works in most venues with my loud rock blues band. With certain bigger clubs with certain acoustics I add a Fender 12 inch, but its only 250 watts and the RS15 is 400 watts, so at 4 ohms its throwing 400 watts at each speaker, It may overpower the...

Music stores sell a wedge with incremental notches on it. I use one with my RS15 to aim up at me. This helps. And I use wireless on my basses so I can go out into the audience on sound checks and see how it sounds, which is usually totally different than what I hear on stage. And unless we have...

New Squier Classic Vibe Mustang Bass

I had the opposite happen where the E string is louder than the others. It is my playing style where I pluck the E too hard. I realize I have to play my short scales with more of a delicate touch if I want to have relatively low action. I also had a Curtis Novak pickup put on and it sounds more...

Mustang replacement pickup comparison w/ sound clips - Lollar, Norstrand, Fender, & Squier

I have the Novak wider band frequency for my Squire Mustang and it has maybe 10 to 15% increase in vol. and about that much clearer sound. Thats playing finger style. Not a great difference.

    Squier Affinity Jaguar Bass...H?!

In addition to the resolite tuners, I have a heavier Norstrand musicman pickup, and a heavier Gotoh bridge. Shimmed the neck to get lower action with the higher bridge plate and bigger barrels on the Gotoh. And I use some of those gel stick on's on the back of my wide padded strap. Still have a...

My Gotoh Resolites were also drop in, as was the Gotoh bridge. And with the heavier Norstrand MM pickup, I can play it for a regular 3 set gig and no significant problems with neck dive anymore.

Good for you. I use mine in all my club work with a fairly loud blues/rock band, doing numbers like Cream, Ten Years After, Johnny Winter, Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal, SWV, Robbin Ford, etc. I seldom run through the PA since we usually do not have a sound person. I usually use my 18 year old GK10001RB...

    Squier Affinity Jaguar Bass...H?!

Very nice. I have the same bass and have the 3 way switch with the Nordstrand 4.2 musicman pu., and Gotoh resolite classic tuners which have helped with neck dive. Played for a couple hours last night without a break and my neck and shoulder have not hurt. The neck dive is negligible with my...
