Squier Affinity Jaguar Bass...H?!

White PG looks great on it! Glad it worked out. I'm loving the black on mine.

Where did you get the white PU? I can't find them on Ernie Ball's site. I can only find copies elsewhere around the web.

Try this..

29.4US $ |Free Shipping White Music man Alnico 5 magnet bass pickup in black color for 4 string diy guitar pickup parts гитара|Guitar Parts & Accessories| - AliExpress

In earlier day, while I have sterling Ray4 , I share this donlis mm pup at Sub Ray4 forum. It is alnico v magnet pup. Sweet and non too aggressive (compare to ceramic ) in tone when wire in parallel. But, factory wire come in series.
I suggest Donlis make the white version because I found some TB member looking for white cover mm pup. And they listen my suggestion and sell well.

If you guy looking for low price alnico v pbass pickup, Donlis has one, she sound pretty nice and price friendly. Yah, they provide international free shipping.

I always deal with Donlis and my customer happy with the tone without spend high price on pup choice.

Just played one of these yesterday. Sounded pretty good.

Perhaps it's already been discussed, but is it possible to rewire the humbucker to a series/parallel/split switch. Anyone done it?

Not a bass I'm going to buy but I was curious.

Yes is has, no it’s not possible with the not very inspiring stock pickup. I’m about to rewire with the Donlis pickup just mentioned above.

I will take the liberty of suggesting Epic Customs for low priced hand wound Fender replacement pups.I've used them and I'm more than satisfied.

Oh yeah, not sure if you all noticed from my pics, but I easily got rid of the ‘made in’ info on the back of the headstock with steel wool. Just take the tuners off and use broad movements over the whole surface and it will disappear quickly. More upside to the very minimal finish.

I think I've reached the final boss of both this Jaguar H and Musicman pickups in the process.
This thing absolutely pounds, I cannot imagine a better mid-length MM based instrument.
The Nordstrand Big Splitman 4 yields power and range I've heretofore not experienced. A spectrum of growly thunder further broadened by the 3-way configuration. It's still revealing itself to me but between feathery fingertips and hard picks this pickup just delivers so much variety and all of it gorgeous. I pined over which PU to go with and man oh man am I happy with this choice (so much so I'm selling both my Sterling Stingrays (H and HH) as this is similar yet so much 'more' not to mention passive [f 9volts]).
Full mod list: Hipshot tuners (neckdive mitigation + gear ratio), Fender High Mass bridge, Wainright custom switchplate (CTS 250k mini pots, -0.047mF cap, 3-way mini toggle for series/single/parallel, Switchcraft jack), TI flats, custom knobs, custom silver sparkle pickguard, Walker & Williams strap and the Nordstrand Big Splitman 4. Was a teensy bit worried about the E string being metal on post but.. nahhh it'll be fine.
The glory is real.

I wasn't finding what I wanted in MM style pickups to replace the stock mudbucker so I went experimental instead. I had this Railhammer noiseless P90 laying around, figured I'd go for a Bass VI/tenor bass vibe. Has 32-80 strings on it now, tuned Ab standard. Running it into a Fender Twin and Rumble 200 simultaneously. Sounds great clean, dirty, or doomy. I almost considered selling it cause I just wasn't getting a sound I liked out of it, and the neck dive is horrendous, but now it's a cool weirdo worth keeping.

Very nice. I have the same bass and have the 3 way switch with the Nordstrand 4.2 musicman pu., and Gotoh resolite classic tuners which have helped with neck dive. Played for a couple hours last night without a break and my neck and shoulder have not hurt. The neck dive is negligible with my wide strap and some of those jell looking stickers on the back of the strap. I have never had a MM pu before and this one running passive is great at gigs. Where did you get your pick guard. I have been looking around for one and that one really looks sharp.

Wow the Norstrand Big Split is the pickup I’d love to try someday. I’d love to get into something pretty aggressive but stay passive and ideally not need supplemental tone/drive pedals. Also who made your pickguard? Troy Neagle has gone incommunicado again, I need some more work done.

Here's my new Jag H in Lake placid blue next to my '71 Hagstrom H1B. 50 Years old the bass is, past down from my Dad.
The Hagstrom was my first bass, medium scale 32".
I'm really enjoying this bass. It's just alot of fun to play.
So far I actually like the pickup in it. not alot of top end, lol, but it sits nice and full in the mix. I just use an eq pedal to improve it a bit.
I am considering putting an Aguilar mm pickup it there. For now I dig it.

Hey all, searched through the thread for an answer to this question, but im unclear.

Do the necks for the Classic Vibe Jagaur PJ and the Affinity Jaguar H swap easily? Straight swap or some light modification.

Considering doing this as someone else mentioned in the earlier parts of the thread.

Yes they do. I have an Affinity neck on a Classic Vibe body. The neck pockets are very close, the Affinity screws are one size up from standard Fender for some reason, so keep the screws with the body. I ended having my luthier finish the setup with some medium strings and it feels and plays great.
