All of this depends on how you are wired. If you are comfortable with a lot of basses, and it brings you enjoyment - zen, then that is what you need, to accept, to embrace. It is immaterial why someone else does this or that.

I had a GK MB500 and 800, preferred the 500. This was through the same cabs and at the same clubs and rehearsal room. Could not break it down why, it was subtle but definitely a difference.
