Ampeg pf50t vs fender 50 watt Adam Clayton bass amp

I guess that’s globalisation hey? I’m going to grab one of these while they’re still this price. At the US retail price I can understand the quibbles with the amp but for the money here it’s an awesome deal

That’s so weird, it’s definitely 2099 AUD here, can get varying discounts on that from every store. If anyone wants me to ship one over you’d save some money buying from Australia haha!

Ampeg pf50t vs fender 50 watt Adam Clayton bass amp

I’ve been reading this thread after testing one out at a store in Australia yesterday - the oomph and clarity is really great. I tried a couple of different (Am Pro ii and custom shop 63) jazz basses that sounded very different through it. EQ was pretty powerful I thought, I had a tougher time...

Nah, like I said - the bar is very low. The not nice thing about that is having to tell people they don’t meet that low bar. The reason I wrote everything is to fast track us to gigs, not to tell people what to play, and the players who’ve come through have been cool with that.

No doubt, I’ve looked hard in the mirror. To clarify - I have produced and recorded 8 songs to establish the sound and format, and want players that can write from there. Also attracted management who’s pushing me to do it solo (a la goo fighters) if I have to but it’s important for me to have a...

Thanks mate, a friend said to me ‘how desperate are you that you’re considering this? This is YOUR project man’ I don’t want to be possessive or authoritarian about any of it but I don’t want to be the third wheel in my own songs either.

Thanks mate, yours was a very helpful post - I laughed out loud when you said do you feel lucky? The drummers ultimatum (confirmed) rules him out for me and if the other bassist I’ve got lined up doesn’t work out maybe she’s an option but I’m looking forward to people confident and...

Thanks mate, me too! He’s a real asset, he’s an entrepreneurial spirit and a real motivational energy to have on board, I just think he was reaching a bit with his girl. Before things came to a head I asked him the other day if he was still keen if she wasn’t in and he said yeah and immediately...

Agreed, we’re all around 30 and I feel like we should all be mature enough as musicians and people to be objective and honest about what serves the music.

Update: bass player not happy I want to try another bassist as well as her, so she’s dipped out. She spoke to the drummer and he’s out, as he was keen on a family thing. Other bassist I want to play with us keen to jam this week, guitarist still in, keeping eyes open for a drummer now. I’m happy...

    Choosing band members

As I stated in the original post, I want musicians who are capable that I can let do what they want to do with the songs.

Explained in an earlier post. Also I know a capable bass player who’s keen.

This was my gut feeling about it, I was trying to not be a prick and let things flow but usually when ignore my gut I come unstuck. It occurs to me now I should suggest they start a band that suits them, all they need is a singer.

Good point - I hadn’t even factored the brother into that context
